INTRODUCING....... Sheep for Busy People!
White Dorper Sheep
Our first sheep arrived in the summer of 2008. They are high percentage White Dorpers. Our first lamb crop is due in early
May 2009.
White Dorpers are "hair sheep". This means they shed their wool or hair and DO NOT need shearing. They have an
increased parasite resistance as compared to most sheep breeds and they have fast weight gain as lambs. They truly are
"sheep for busy people"!
We will have ram lambs available for sale from this first crop.
These lambs can be delivered to a local processor if you so desire.
White Dorper sheep are excellent browsers and utilize the available material in a pasture much better than other breeds.
Their hair coat sheds spontaneously, and is ideal for those who are not interested in wool.
The Dorper lamb, being a meat sheep grows rapidly, and usually reaches a weaning weight of about 80 pounds in about 4
months or less. Average weight for a White Dorper ewe is 160-220 pounds. An average White Dorper ram weighs 225-265
pounds.
Notice the short wool of this
percentage White Dorper . Her
lamb's coat is shorter than hers.
